Part-time work awaits U of T students

It’s the busiest time of year on campus, as professors and students dive into a new semester. But studying isn’t the only thing on the agenda – at the Faculty of Physical Education and Health (FPEH), there are 170 student jobs to fill by the end of October to help its academic and co-curricular programs run smoothly.
The largest employer of students on campus, FPEH has work-study positions for every interest and skill set, from lab assistants and sports photographers, to Varsity Blues event promoters, recreation program coordinators and outreach assistants.
“This has to be one of the best-kept secrets on campus,” says Darcy Brioux, manager of the Faculty’s Centre for Leadership Training and Education, who oversees the FPEH work-study listings. “The opportunities are so diverse; there really is something for everyone.”
The work-study program is available to students who quality for OSAP, financial aid from another province, or have a demonstrated financial need.
The application deadline for 2007-08 work-study positions is October 31st. Position descriptions can be found on the FPEH and U of T Career Centre websites, at www.ac-fpeh.com/leadership/opportunities.php or www.careers.utoronto.ca respectively.
