Free fitness, dance classes kick off fall semester
Students, staff encouraged to try something new
Sep 05/07
While students rush to register for biology or medieval literature in the coming days, the Faculty of Physical Education and Health is opening its doors on September 19th for an entirely different kind of class experience.
As part of its Active U program – designed to encourage U of T students, staff and faculty to get more daily physical activity – the Faculty is offering a series of free fitness classes at the Athletic Centre and Varsity Centre throughout the day.
The drop-in classes include belly dancing, introduction to running, swimming, squash, yoga, Pilates, salsa, cycle fit, and beginner golf. Participants can also talk to instructors and staff about other ways to build activity into their daily lives.
All classes are FREE to students, staff and faculty. No registration is required (first come, first served). More details about these and other programs can be found at www.activeu.ca.
