Application Deadlines

BPHE Degree Only Application Deadline: March 1, 2009
CTEP Application Deadline: February 1, 2009

Late applications will not be considered. Apply to one program only via the Ontario Universities' Application Service web site (OUAC). Unsuccessful applicants to the CTEP option will be automatically considered for admission to the BPHE program.

Statement of Interest
Due March 15, 2009 for all applicants. This document must be completed on-line (coming soon) .

CTEP Applicant Profile
Due February 16, 2009 for CTEP applicants. This document must be completed on-line.

English Facility
Due April 1, 2009 for all application.

Transcripts for Current Canadian or American Secondary School Students
Due April 30, 2009: mid-term secondary school transcript

Transcripts for Overseas Applicants
Due June 1, 2009: all academic transcripts

Transcripts for All Other Applicants
Due June 15, 2009

Application Procedures

Applicants from Ontario High Schools
Current full-time Ontario Secondary School Grade 12 students receive information on the application process from their high school's guidance department in the fall. For more information about the application process please review the Ontario Secondary School Applicants section of the U of T Admissions web site.

Applicants from Canadian Secondary Schools Outside of Ontario
All applicants attending secondary school outside of Ontario must apply for admission through OUAC using the online 105 application. Detailed application procedures and a listing of acceptable prerequisite equivalents can be found in the Canadian Secondary School Applicants section of the U of T Admissions web site.

International Applicants
All international applicants should apply to the program using the OUAC 105F online application.

International applicants from American secodary schools should refer to the from the American Secondary School Applicants section of the U of T Admissions web site for detailed information about application procedures and admission requirements.

Applicants from other countries should refer to the International Applicant section of the U of T website for details about admission requirements, study permits and English facility requirements. The International Student Centre at U of T provides a variety of social and support services to international students attending the University of Toronto.

University Transfer Students ( BPHE Degree Only)
An undergraduate of another university may be admitted to the BPHE program with advanced standing if a high standing has been maintained in previous studies, and if appropriate prerequisites have been completed. Transfer students should apply to the program using the OUAC 105 online application. Application procedures are available in the Transfer Students section of the U of T Admissions website. Transfer students are not eligible to apply to the CTEP program.

Internal U of T Transfer Students (BPHE Degree Only)
Students registered in other programs at U of T who wish to transfer to the BPHE program should apply using the U of T's Online Internal Transfer Application. Application procedures are available in the Internal U of T Transfers section of the U of T Admissions web site. Transfer students are not eligible to apply to the CTEP program.

Mature Students
Two potential places have been set aside each year for truly outstanding non-matriculant applicants. A 'mature applicant' must have been an Ontario resident for one year, 21+ years of age on Oct. 1, and not completed an Ontario Secondary School or equivalent program. Applicants must demonstrate ability and experience, and complete a minimum of one English, one Math (Advanced Functions or Calculus & Vectors) and Biology at the grade 12 4U or equivalent level. At least one of these courses must be completed with a 'B' standing or higher through the Academic Bridging Program offered at Woodsworth College.

Aboriginal Students
In recognition of the University of Toronto's special responsibilities to the peoples of the GTA, Ontario, and Canada and to the diversity of those peoples, the Faculty has established special criteria and procedures for improving the participation of aboriginal students in its programs. Aboriginal applicants who wish consideration under these criteria should notify the Chair of the Undergraduate Admissions Committee about their application to the Faculty. Contact 416-978-3026 to initiate this process. Students should indicate this information on their Statement of Interest. Applicants in this category can also receive assistance with their application and enrolment process from the Office of Aboriginal Student Services and Programs at First Nations House.

Students with a Disability
The Faculty has reserved two undergraduate spots for qualified applicants with a physical disability. Applicants or their guidance counselors are invited to contact the Undergraduate Program's Admissions Office at 416-978-3026 or send an e-mail with requests for special consideration. Students should indicate this information on their Statement of Interest.

When Decisions Are Released

Well-qualified current Canadian or American secondary school students will receive a decision by the end of April if they have applied by February 1 and their file is complete by March 1. For all others, decisions will be made on an ongoing basis beginning in late May. Prospective students can check the status of the online Admissions and Awards Application Status Check.
