Sport Science & Research: Funding Opportunity
Important Information
Thank you for your interest in the Research Program in Applied Sport Sciences (RPASS) of the Ministry of Health Promotion (MHP) in conjunction with the Canadian Sport Centres – Ontario (CSC –O) and the Centre for High Performance Sport at the University of Toronto. Before you apply for funding, please read the following information concerning the grant application process.
The RPASS priority is to fund research that will assist the provincial plan for developing excellence in sport http://www.mhp.gov.on.ca/english/sportandrec/active2010.asp.The MHP funds research into physical activity participation through the Communities in Action Fund http://www.mhp.gov.on.ca/english/sportandrec/fund.asp.
Eligibility
Only researchers working with organizations in Ontario are eligible for MHP funding. The MHP flows funding to researchers through sponsoring organizations who then administer research grant funding on behalf of the grant recipient(s). To be eligible for an MHP RPASS grant, a sponsoring organization must be:
- a post-secondary institution or affiliated institution, such as a university, hospital, or research institute;or
- a non-government, non-profit sport and recreation sector organization
Available Funds and Research Project Duration
The current funding limit per project is $8000. Project plans should be designed with a maximum project duration of 12 months.

Deadline and Submission Details
