How to apply
Application should be made online, through the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC).The application centre in Guelph will forward your application information to the University of Toronto, provided the OUAC form has been completely filled out and all appropriate service fees paid. Once received, the University of Toronto Admissions and Awards Office will send an acknowledgement letter and Application Guide to you. They will also forward your application information to the BPHE Program Admissions Office who will contact you with details for completing the Statement of Interest. The Program code for both Kinesiology and Physical Education Teacher Preparation is 'TP'.

Admission Requirements
- Six Grade 12 U/M courses including:
- English - ENG4U/EAE4U
- Biology - SBI4U
- Advanced Functions & Introductory Calculus (MCB4U), or Geometry & Discrete mathematics (MGA4U)
- Exercise Science PSE4U if available
- Chemistry (SCH4U) and physics (SPH4U) are recommended.
Appropriate combinations of Grade 12 U/M courses and OAC courses will also be considered. The out-of-school component of Grade 12 U/M co-op courses will not be accepted. Applicants from other educational jurisdictions must present equivalent qualifications. Please choose the appropriate category below for further information on the admission process.
Additional Requirement:
All applicants are required to submit a Statement of Interest. The Faculty will contact applicants with information on the process upon receipt of their application. Statements of Interest are due two weeks after receipt.

Applicants requiring proof of English facility should make arrangements to write an acceptable test immediately.
Admission Scholarships
The Faculty of Physical Education and Health automatically considers all applicants to the BPHE Program for the following admission scholarships, some of which take financial need into consideration. It is important that all applicants complete and submit the on-line UTAPs (University of Toronto Advanced Planning for Students) application form, to make them eligible for these awards.University of Toronto Scholars Program - Admission Scholarships
The University of Toronto annually offers admission scholarships (about $3,000) to secondary school students who apply to the university. No special application is needed. About 120 scholarships are available and a minimum of two Physical and Health Education applicants will be awarded a non-renewable scholarship.
Jean Forster Entrance Scholarships
Two entrance scholarships of $3,000 each are awarded by the Admissions Committee to first year students entering the Faculty from high school or the equivalent, with A standing or above (based on attainment in six Grade 12 4U credits or equivalent, including pre-requisites) and an outstanding Statement of Interest. All applicants will be considered for these awards and no special application is needed. Usually a high school average of 84% or better is required. Jean Forster administered the university’s diploma program in physical education in the 1930s and played a leading role in the creation of the original School of Physical and Health Education. She is fondly remembered by the early graduates.
Dr. Donald H. H. MacKenzie Entrance Scholarship
This award is made to a student entering first year on the basis of financial need, and excellence as determined by admission average,
a commitment to a lifestyle of physical activity as a means of maintaining health, and leadership experience in some aspect of the broad field of physical and health education. Financial need is taken into consideration when selecting winners for this award. $3,000
Dean’s Scholarship
The Dean’s Scholarships recognize the outstanding caliber of students entering the undergraduate program who do not receive any other admission scholarship. Secondary school students with a 90% average or better entering 1st year will be considered for this $1,500 award.
Dalt White Entrance Bursary
The Dalt White Bursary is awarded to a student entering first year in the B.P.H.E. program who has demonstrated participation in school activities and leadership in the organization of athletics. Financial need is taken into consideration when selecting winners for this award. $500
